CIAA Commissioner Pathak resigns

KATHMANDU: Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Raj Narayan Pathak resigned from his post over bribery charges, a report in the Himalayan Times said.

Pathak tendered his resignation to President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday, said Chhabindra Parajuli, spokesperson for the Office of the President.

Pathak admitted on camera in a sting operation of receiving Rs 7.8 million in bribe settling cases being investigated by the CIAA, according to the report.
