Kashmir phone lines to start opening today



NEW DELHI: Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, BVR Subrahmanyam, on Friday announced that the phone lines and communication restrictions in the valley will be eased out in phases, starting today night.

Subrahmanyam added that restrictions will be removed in phases considering the terror threats from terrorist outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba.

He told the media that restrictions will be gradually lifted while the schools will be opened from Monday area-wise. All government offices have been made functional from Friday itself, he added.

He also stated that movement of public transport will also be made operational. (Agencies)
