Govt holds talks with Biplav outfit

KATHMANDU: The government and the outlawed Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav-led outfit have been engaged in talks.

A source said a government team led by the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Som Prasad Pandey held talks with the leaders of the outfit at an undisclosed place near Nepalgunj on Tuesday. It is unclear whether the dialogues were held in Nepal or India.

“We are in close contact with the leaders of the outfit. However, a concrete outcome is yet to be achieved. Further development is likely by Thursday,” said Pandey.

The source added Pandey will hold talks with the outfit again on Wednesday and Thursday near Nepal-India border in Sunali.
