NRB to sell 1,729,989 units of Nepse shares



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central bank in the country, is set to sell its 1,729,989 units of shares in the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) Ltd.

Issuing a notice today, the bank said that it is selling its Nepse shares at an auction for Rs 1,032 per unit as per the NRB Act.

Interested banks, financial institutes and share traders can submit a sealed application to the NRB fiscal management department to pursue the purchase by August 19, said the notice.

Nepse has 58.66 percent government investment, 34.60 percent of the central bank, 6.12 percent of the NIDC Capital and share brokers have their 0.62 investment in it.
