Lunar eclipse: When to watch lunar eclipse

KATHMANDU: The Sun, the Earth and the Moon will line up in what has been termed as a ‘rare configuration’ on Wednesday morning that will produce a partial lunar eclipse.

The event will be visible from all across Nepal. The partial lunar eclipse, which will be the last lunar eclipse of 2019, will begin shortly after Wednesday midnight (July 17) and will end just before Thursday 5:45 am. The eclipse will be most clearly visible at around 3:15 am.

Lunar eclipse

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes in between the Moon and the Sun and that the Earth shadow will cast on the Moon.

Watch the lunar eclipse

This lunar eclipse will be visible from most of the parts of the country. However, it will be clear only if the monsoon clouds do not come in the way of watching it.

This year’s lunar eclipse will begin at 12:27 am on Thursday (July 17). The eclipse will, however, will not be clearly visible at that time.
