Schools closed to avoid scorching heat

BARDIBAS: Rising temperature has forced the local administration to shut down schools in Mahottari. The number of schools closing down is increasing along with the rise in the mercury since the first week of June.

According to the Temperature Measurement Centre at Bholasanta Chowk, the temperature was recorded to be 43 degree Celsius at 3:00 pm on Saturday.

As a result, the local markets and government offices remain deserted. Daily wage laborers have been hard hit.
