Met office forecasts rain with thunderstorm for today



KATHMANDU: The Metrological Forecasting Division (MFD) has forecasted generally cloudy weather for eastern and western regions and partly to generally cloudy in the central region on Sunday.

In a weather bulletin for today, MFD said there are chances of brief rains coupled with thunderstorms at some places of the eastern and western regions and at a few places of the central region.

Kathmandu Valley had recorded the hottest day of the year on Friday with the mercury soaring to 33.5 degree Celsius. A maximum temperature of 33 degree Celsius was recorded on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the heatwave has crippled life in the plains with temperature crossing 40 degree Celsius.
