KATHMANDU: Police have arrested four persons who were found to be tricking people into buying iron with gold cover.

Those arrested are Purna Bahadur Tamang of Nuwakot, Chandra Bahadur Shrestha, Prabin Shrestha and Subash Shrestha of Kavre, police said.

They had allegedly tricked Rajesh BK of Ranibari, Kathmandu into buying iron pieces wrapped in yellow cloth under the pretext that it was gold, on December 24 last year.

Later upon discovering that he was duped after reaching home, BK complained to the police that he was cheated. A special team of police mobilized to hunt the swindlers later arrested them from Sundhara.

Police have also taken a taxi under control used by the frauds. The police informed that they have recovered the swindled amount from them and have returned them to the concerned person.
