AFC U-19 Women’s Championship team announced



KATHMANDU: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced a team for the second edition of the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship on Tuesday.

A 23-member team has been formed under the captainship of Saru Limbu. The team includes Anjana Rana Magar, Rebika Rai, Usha Nath (goalkeepers), Nisha Thokar, Sushma Maharjan, Rojina Shrestha, Samiksha Ghimire, Bimala BK, Puja Rana Magar, Saloni Rana Magar, Sabita Rana Magar (defenders), Saru Limbu, Manjali Kumari Yonjan, Menuka Ale Magar (midfielders), said head coach Hariom Shrestha.

Similarly, other members in the team are Asmita Baidya, Manisha Raut, Suhani Kushuwar, Priti Rai, Samjhana Lawati and Rashmi Kumari Ghising, Elisha Jimba, Rekha Paudel and Nirmala Upadhyaya.

Nepal had entered the second edition by demonstrating a brilliant performance in a tournament held under the first edition of AFC U-19 Women’s Championship in Thailand,  It had scored six points from three games.

The second edition match will begin from April 26 to 30 in Thailand.

The winner will secure berth in the AFC U-19 championship. Nepal is in group ‘A’ along with Australia, Uzbekistan, and Myanmar. Nepal will face Australia in its first match on April 26, Uzbekistan on April 28 and Myanmar on April 30.
