Surya Thapa appointed Press Advisor to PM Oli



KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader Surya Thapa has been appointed Press Advisor to Prime Minister KP Oli.

According to the source, a meeting of Council of Ministers held at prime minister’s official residence on Friday evening in Baluwatar appointed Thapa who is Deputy Chief of Publicity Department and also a central member of the ruling party to the post.

Earlier, the prime ministers had forced all the members of his secretariat to resign. PM Oli approved the resignation of the six members.

Resignation of Press Advisor Kundan Aryal, Public Relations Advisor Achyut Mainali, Press Coordinator Chetan Adhikari and Ghanshyam Bhattarai, Krishna Poudel and computer operator Uday Pokharel was approved with effect from November 17.

The prime minister gave continuity to Political Advisor Bishnu Rimal and Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai.
