Industrialist Roop Jyoti released



KATHMANDU: Police on Friday released industrialist Roop Jyoti. He was released from Metropolitan Police Circle, Durbarmarg after District Attorney Office, Kathmandu told police to release him.

Police were told to release him after deciding not to file a case against him as a complaint has been withdrawn.

He was released after Bigendra Krishna Malla, who earlier lodged a complaint against the industrialist of fraud over a land dispute withdrew his complaint.

Malla had earlier filed a complaint at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Circle alleging him of cheating him of Rs 12.6 million over a case involving land at Bansbari in Kathmandu.

A team of police deployed from Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu had arrested Roop Jyoti who is also a former Assistant Minister for Finance from Tribhuvan International Airport on November 7.

The business fraternity in Nepal had strongly condemned his arrest.
