Ex-Minister Alam remanded for seven days

RAUTAHAT: The District Court, Rautahat, has granted permission to the police to remand the suspended lawmaker Mohamud Aftab Alam for seven days for the investigation.

Former Minister Alam was arrested on Sunday on the charge of his involvement in a bomb blast that occurred in Rautahat district in April 2008. District Court judge Chitra Bahadur Gurung granted permission to the police to remand Alam for seven days when the police presented him before the court. The security situation was beefed up while taking him before the court.

Meanwhile, Shree Narayan Singh, who lost his son Trilok Pratap Singh in the blast, said with the arrest of Alam he was optimistic to get justice after 12 years of the incident.
