39 including two Nepalis arrested in Malaysia



PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia Immigration Department detained 39 foreign workers after an operation at seven vegetable and flower farms in Cameron Highlands on Thursday, according to report in Malaysian media.

Among the detained are 17 Indians, 12 men from Bangladesh, eight Myanmar men and two Nepalis suspected of working without a valid permit in the area, The Star reported.

When the raid was conducted, several of these workers tried to flee but the authorities managed to block their escape, according to the officials.

All those detained were taken to the Lenggeng Immigration Detention Depot for further investigations and actions.
