Trump likely to sign order on Huawei ban

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump is likely to sign an executive order, which will pave the way for a ban on doing business with China’s Huawei, Reuters said today.

The signing of the order this week will bar the U.S. companies from using telecommunications equipment made by firms that will pose a national security risk.

Although the order will not name specific countries or companies, it will be signed but can still be delayed.

If Trump signs the orders, it would come at a delicate time in relations between the United States and China as they have ratchet up tariffs in a row. (Agencies)
