NEA makes profit of Rs 2.848 bln



KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has made a profit of Rs 2,848,100,000  in the fiscal year 2074/75, a report in Nagarik daily said.

According to a 56th report unveiled by the Office of the Auditor General on Friday, the NEA has posted a profit of around three billion in current fiscal.

When NEA Managing Director Kulman Ghising assumed office in 2073 BS, the authority was at a loss of Rs 8.890 billion.

Due to Ghising’s managerial skills, the NEA was able to make a profit of Rs 1,467,300,000 in the fiscal 2073/74, ending load shedding for the first time in authority’s history.
