KATHMANDU: The low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression and is expected to strengthen further while moving west-northwestward in the coming days, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.
The system has begun having a partial impact on Nepal from Wednesday. The Division said the Kathmandu Valley has experienced cloudy and rainy conditions since Wednesday morning, with the influence of the monsoon compounded by the weather system over the Bay of Bengal.
According to the Division, moderate rainfall is likely in the Kathmandu Valley today, with heavy rainfall possible at one or two locations.
