Dhanusha bomb blast: Home Minister expresses determination to book culprits

KATHMANDU: Home Affairs Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has expressed the determination to take action against the criminals carrying out a powerful bomb explosion in Dhanusha last night.

Describing the incident in which three people including father and son and a Police Inspector were killed as heinous, the Home Minister through the social site, expressed that he was stunned by the incident.

“I express commitment on behalf of the government to bring to justice the criminal involved in such atrocious incident,” Minister Thapa posted on his Facebook wall.

The Home Minister stated that he has been shocked by the incident that happened in Mahendranagar municipality of Khireshwarnath Municipality-5 in Dhanusha in which Police inspector Amir Kumar Dahal, local Rajeshwar Shah, and Ananda Saha were killed and three other locals were injured.

He paid tribute to the deceased and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Minister Thapa also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.

The bomb exploded at the gate of local Saha’s house, where Rajesh and his 24-year-old son Anand lost their lives on the spot. Injured seriously in the explosion, Inspector of Nepal Police, Amir Kumar Dahal, also breathed his last while undergoing treatment, the police said.

Other injured in the blast were- Rajesh’s youngest son Prakash, daughter Nikki Kumari, father Bhikhari Saha and police constable Rijnath Kumar Mahato.

Police were informed about a suspicious thing found hanging on the house gate at midnight. Rajesh’s wife noticed it and informed the police immediately.

The police team mobilized under the leadership of Inspector Dahal from Area Police Office, Mahendranagar, reached in the site immediately after the information.

The bomb exploded all of a sudden while the police team was trying to ascertain whether it was explosive material. The house was newly constructed.
