15-member cricket squad announced for South Asian Games

KATHMANDU: A 15-member Nepali men’s cricket squad led by Gyanendra Malla for South Asian Games has been announced on Thursday.

Regular members Sharad Veswakar and Basanta Regmi have not been included in the final squad. Youth cricketers Rohit Kumar Poudel, Bhim Sharki and Sagar Dhakal have been named as alternative players.

Rashid Khan has debuted in the senior team. He is currently in Bangladesh for ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup Cricket.

Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka will be competing in cricket in the regional tournament.

Final squad:

Gyanendra Malla, Paras Khadka, Sandeep Lamichhane, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Binod Bhandari, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Pawan Sarraf, Sandeep Jora, Sushan Bhari, Arif Seikh, Avinash Bohara, Kushal Bhurtel and Rashid Khan.
