India beats Nepal by 7 wkts in Emerging Teams Cup

KATHMANDU: India U-23 defeated Nepal by seven wickets on Thursday in the ongoing Asian Cricket Council Emerging Teams Cup underway in Bangladesh.

Chasing down the 194-run target set by Nepal, India achieved the target in 42 overs losing three wickets. For India, Sanvir Singh top-scored at 56 runs. Armaan Jaffer and BR Sharath contributed 51 and 49 runs respectively.

For Nepal, Karan KC, Shushan Bhari and Lalit Rajbanshi took one wicket apiece.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal notched up 193 runs on the board as Pawan Sarraf made 56 runs and Sharad Veshwakar hit 44 runs.

India’s Saurabh Dubey and Yash Rathod took four and three wickets respectively.
