Five districts of Karnali State deprived of electricity



KARNALI: Five districts of Karnali State are deprived of electricity service.

According to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), office in Surkhet, it would take another two years to extend the national transmission line to Jumla, Kalikot, Mugu, Dolpa, and Humla districts of Karnali.

NEA Chief Engineer in Surkhet, Surendra Agrahari, informed that necessary process to expand the national transmission line has been initiated.

He added that they have been making preparations to expand Jajarkot-Dolpa, Kalikot-Jumla, and Nagma-Mugu 33 KV transmission lines within the current fiscal year.

Agrahari stated that a target has been set to expand the transmission line at least at headquarters of these districts within the next two years.

About 77,000 households of the Karnali State have been getting power supply from the national transmission line.
