Azerbaijan to host 18th NAM Summit from Oct 25

BAKU: Azerbaijan is hosting the 18th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) from 25-26 October 2019 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Summit will be preceded by the meeting of the Preparatory Senior Officials on October 21-22. Likewise, the meeting of the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting will be held on October 23-24.

The Republic of Azerbaijan will take over the chairmanship of the NAM for the upcoming 3 years at the summit.

NAM is a forum of 120 developing world states that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.

Meanwhile, Nepal was formally integrated into the Belgrade summit of the non-aligned countries in 1961.  (Agencies)
