446 climb Nepal’s 14 mountains this spring

KATHMANDU:  A total of 446 climbers have successfully climbed Nepal’s 14  out of 32 mountains including Mt Everest in spring season this year.

Likewise, 521 altitude porters have reached the summit of these 14 mountains.

According to a report published today by a committee to review and recommend policies to reform the mountaineering sector, altogether 17 climbers died during the expedition in Mt Everest, Mt Kanchanjunga, Mt Lhotse and Mt Makalu so far this year.

The fourteen peaks are Everest (8848m.), Amadablam (6814m.), Annapurna I (8091m.), Chamlang (7321m.), Chhopabamare (6109m.), Dhawalagiri (8167m.), Gaugiri (6110m.), GyalzenPeak(6151m.), Himlung Himal (7126m.), Kanchanjunga Main (8586m.), Lhotse (8516m.), Makalu (8463m.) and Pumori (7161m).

The Government of Nepal had on June 12  formed a five-member panel.
