Navjot Sidhu steps down as state Cabinet minister of Punjab

PUNJAB: India’s television personality, former cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from the state minister of Punjab.

He submitted his resignation letter to former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. He has also posted a copy of the letter on Twitter.

In a portfolio reshuffle exercise on June 6, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had divested Sidhu of key portfolios of local government, tourism and cultural affairs. Singh allocated him power and renewable energy sources ministry after which Sidhu had not assumed the new post. (Agencies)
