Bhandari’s half-century knock helps Nepal set 174-run target against Malaysia

KATHMANDU: A brilliant half-century knock by Binod Bhandari propelled Nepal to set 174 runs to win for Malaysia in the final match of the T20 International Cricket Tournament underway at Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

Bhandari contributed 51 runs off 25 balls hitting five sixes and three fours remaining not out to help Nepal post 173 runs of the board losing six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sharad Vesawkar and skipper Paras Khadka contributed 40 and 23 runs respectively.

For Malaysia, Fitri Sham took three wickets while Syed Aziz and Sharvin Muniandy grabbed a wicket apiece.

Nepal had won the toss and elected to bat first. Earlier on Saturday, Nepal had defeated host Malaysia by 7 wickets.
