Indian PM Modi meets Xi Jinping, Putin at SCO Summit



BISHKEK: Indian’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz capital to take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit on Thursday.

PM Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani, and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Summit. The talks basically focused on further strengthening the bilateral relations, media reports have said.

Meanwhile, no pleasantries have been exchanged between PM Modi and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan.

PM Modi had earlier said he would meet leaders to promote political, multilateral, economic, security and people-to-people contact in the region.

Modi will address the SCO Summit on Friday. (Agencies)
