New rules for school buses under discussion

KATHMANDU: The government plans to introduce new rules for school buses plying the streets of Kathmandu.

If everything goes well according to the plan, school buses will not be allowed to ply the streets after 9 am.

The rule is, however, currently under discussion among the government representatives and the concerned stakeholders.

“This is aimed at reducing traffic during peak hours,” a participant of the meeting said.

Representatives of the Ministry of Education, PABSON, N-PABSON, HISSAN, Guardians’ Association of Nepal, Valley Traffic Police, among others are involved in the discussion.
