President extends best wishes on Indra Jatra

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said our cultural festivals like Indrajatra helped enrich the diversities among the Nepalis, and promote social and cultural solidarity, tolerance and mutual goodwill.

In a message of best wishes today on the occasion of the Indra Jatra festival, the Head-of-the- State expressed her hope that cultural festivals would further develop the feeling of mutual understanding and bond among the people and enhance national unity.

The President wished all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad happiness, peace, and prosperity on the occasion of the Kumari Indrajatra festival, carrying the religious-cultural importance of the Kathmandu Valley.  She urged one and all to unite for keeping cultural identity alive.

“The Indrajatra festival dedicated to the Hindu God Indra has its linkage with nature and it may inspire all to gear up for the conservation of nature, bringing prosperity in the agricultural nation and peace among the people,” the message reads.
