Nepal Electricity Authority earns Rs 7 billion profit



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) earned over Rs 7 billion profit in the last fiscal year.

During a press conference organized at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Minister Barshaman Pun said that the state-owned power authority secured Rs 7.20 billion profit in the fiscal year 2018-19.

In the fiscal year 2017-18, NEA has garnered Rs 2 billion profit. The profit of the power authority has increased by 149 percent in the previous fiscal year.

At the press conference, Minister Pun said that NEA has made significant progress in curtailing power leakage.
