Malaysia sets 129-run target for Nepal



KATHMANDU: Malaysia has set a 129-run target for Nepal at the first T20 International Cricket tournament underway at Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.

Electing to bat first after wining toss, Malaysia notched up 128 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs. Vireandeep Singh scored 57 runs, Ahmed Faiz made 45 runs while Fitri Sham contributed 12 runs. The other Malaysian batsmen could not reach double digit runs.

Karan KC took highest three wickets of Malaysia for Nepal. Similarly, Basant Regmi and Sandeep Lamichhane grabbed two wickets each while Sompal Kami claimed one wicket for Nepal.

Currently, Nepal is batting against Malaysia.

Nepal is paying two matches with Malaysia as part of preparation for ICC T20 World Cup final to be held in Singapore. Nepal will play second T-20 with Malaysia on Sunday.
