Chinese aircraft inflicts loss of Rs 607.1 on NAC

KATHMANDU: National flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has suffered a trade deficit of Rs 606.1 million in the past one year for operating six Chinese aircraft, a report in Annapurna daily said.

According to the 56th annual report unveiled by the Office of the Attorney General on Friday, the NAC lost the aforesaid amount in the past one year (April 14, 2018-April 13, 2019).

“Chinese aircraft MA 60 incurred a loss of Rs 316. 4 million and Y12 inflicted loss of Rs 289. 7 million for NAC  in the past one year from six Chinese aircraft,” said the report.

NAC had earned Rs 206. 4 million from MA 60 and Rs 251.12 million from Y12 in the past one year.

NAC has been operating six Chinese aircraft for domestic flights.
