KATHMANDU: Thursday’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) has re-enacted the Passport Bill-2075.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali had tabled the proposal regarding Passport Bill-2075 BS, which the President returned to the parliament with a message, seeking enactment. Prior to the enactment, the meeting had approved the proposal of the Passport Bill.
The meeting had unanimously passed the Passport Bill. President Bidya Devi Bhandari had returned the passport bill that was put forward to her for certification to the federal parliament with a message for review citing some procedural errors.
Addressing the queries Foreign Minister Gyawali responded that the President did not open any matter clearly while returning the passport related bill which was sent to the President after completing all processes and steps.
The passport bill originated at the House of Representatives was passed by the House and sent to the National Assembly with a message. The National Assembly also sent the bill to its thematic legislation management committee for discussion, he recalled.
Today’s meeting also endorsed the Public Service Commission Bill. Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Party Bhanubhakta Dhakal on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had presented the bill in the parliament seeking endorsement. The proposal was anonymously passed in the parliament.
In the meeting, secretary of the House of Representatives Gopal Nath Yogi had tabled the message received on ‘Nepal Police and Province Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination) Bill-2075 and Police Adjustment Bill-2075 in the House of Representatives.
Next meeting of the HoR will take place at 1.00 pm on September 15.
