India trying to resolve issues concerning consular access to Kulbhushan

NEW DELHI: India is making efforts to resolve the issues concerning the second round of consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav in Pakistan via diplomatic channels, Indian media reports have said.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said India will keep trying that the judgment of International Court of Justice is fully implemented.

“We will remain in touch with the Pakistani side on the issue through diplomatic channels,” he told Indian media on Thursday.

Kumar’s statement came hours after Pakistan refused India access to Jadhav notwithstanding the ICJ ruling to that effect.

Kulbhushan, a former Indian Navy officer, has been sentenced to death by the Pakistan military court.

Pakistan had granted the first consular access to Jadhav on September 2 in line with the “Vienna Convention and the ICJ verdict. (Agencies)
