NAWALPARASI: The State-5 government has stressed the promotion of different religious, historical and tourism sites based in Nawalparasi-west in view of the Lumbini Tourism Year-2076 BS.
The State-5 is recognized all over the world as a birthplace of Lord Buddha. Nawalparasi-west is one of the significant districts of the State. As an entry gate of the State-5, it is considered as a prime destination for tourists from different parts of the world. The district has possessed Ramgram Stupa with bodily remains of Gautam Buddha, his maternal home (Panditpur), Buddha’s time Kolbrikshya, lakes and natural sites. Baijanath Chaudhary, Spokesperson of State-5 government and Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, shared that they have floated a plan to carry out necessary publicity and promotional works so as to allure tourists.
Ramgram Stupa is one of the eight places where bodily remains of Gautam Buddha are conserved. The Stupa is having panoramic ambience is an important religious and tourism site for millions of Buddhists and pilgrims. Narendra Kumar Gupta, Mayor of Ramgram municipality, said the municipality has started implementing plan of action to make the Lumbini Visit Year a success.
