7th International Folklore Congress from Friday



KATHMANDU: Nepal Folklore Society (NFS) is organizing the 7th International Folklore Congress in Kathmandu from December 13 to 15.

A total of 96 experts from Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Japan, Sri Lanka, Britain, America, Russia, and Spain will be presenting 86 papers related to various countries’ cultures, art, folk music, and musical instruments, costumes, indigenous communities, among others in the conference.

Society president Tulasi Diwasa informed that a special session on legends and folk songs, stories, and folk dance will also be held.

Society has been organizing the conference since 2001.
