Ward chair held for ‘raping’ woman



RAJBIRAJ: Police have arrested the ward chair of Shambhunath Municipality-12 on the charge of raping a woman in Saptarai District.

Acting on a tip-off, a police squad deployed from the District Police Office, Saptari on Wednesday morning arrested ward chair Laxmi Sah for raping a woman, said DSP Tilak Bharati.

The victim had filed a complaint at the police station accusing Sah of raping her.

Police said they are investigating the case after taking Sah into custody.
