DADELDHURA: Preparations have been made to airlift Dr Govinda KC to Kathmandu from Dadeldhura citing that his health condition is deteriorating.

A helicopter of Nepal Army has landed in Dadeldhura to airlift Dr KC who has been on fast-unto-death for the last one week demanding reforms in the medical education sector.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Population has directed the doctors of Bir and Teaching Hospital to remain standby. Dr Kedar Century, director of Bir Hospital informed Khabarhub that the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)  has been kept ready for the treatment of agitating Dr KC.

Earlier, tension ran high on the premises of Dadeldhura Hospital after the police administration tried to shift  Senior Orthopedic Dr Govinda KC, who is on a fast-onto death, to Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi.

Doctors attending to KC had referred him to a sophisticated hospital saying that his health condition was deteriorating. His blood pressure is increasing and heartbeats are irregular.

KC’s supporters had protested against shifting KC from Dadeldhura Hospital charging that he was being shifted without any plans and against KC’s will.

Dr KC has been on a fast-unto-death for the 17th time demanding reforms in the medical education sector.
