NEW DELHI: Indian security forces killed a top-ranking terrorist of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit, identified as Asif, in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore, Indian media reports have said.

The Lashkar-e-Taiba leader was responsible for a recent shootout to three family members of a fruit trader in Sopore.

Asif was travelling in a car when the security forces intercepted by at a crossing. He did not stop, and opened fire at the forces. The security forces then retaliated and killed him, reports said. (Agencies)
