LONDON: Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out on the ongoing 2019 World Cup for three weeks, in a major blow to Indian cricket team on the world cup mission.
Dhawan was ruled out following a fractured thumb. He was hit by a ball from Nathan Coulter-Nile during his brilliant century against Australia at The Oval on Sunday.
During the match, Ravindra Jadeja had taken the field for Dhawan.
It is believed that K.L. Rahul will be asked to open the innings with Rohit Sharma in the match against New Zealand.
