VISAKHAPATNAM: Deepak Chahar teased Shikhar Dhawan with Mankading attempt during the first ball of the Qualifier 2 between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, Indian media reported.
Deepak Chahar was to start the proceedings with the ball. While he was opening the bowling, Delhi opener Prithvi Shaw on strike. Chahar ran in but bailed out of his delivery stride at the eleventh hour.
Dhawan, who was at the non-striker’s end, had left his crease. But, he managed to scramble back to the crease, India Today reported.
Though Mankading is permissible, the method is considered against the spirit of the game.
