FM Gyawali assures of initiating diplomatic efforts to resolve border issue

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali has said the Government of Nepal will initiate diplomatic efforts to ensure that India corrected its recently published political map.

Receiving a memorandum from the ruling Nepal Communist Party’s student union today, Foreign Minister Gyawali said the government would hold dialogue with the Indian side to resolve the border issues.

He stated that since India has unilaterally incorporated Nepali territory in its new political map, the act would not be acceptable to Nepal.

Meanwhile, leaders of the student union urged the government to immediately initiate efforts to end the issue once and for all by sending a monitoring team to Kalapani.
