SEOUL: South Korea has said the United States is ‘actively’ asking North Korea to come back to negotiations.

According to South Korea’s national security adviser, Chung Eui-yong, they were taking North Korea’s deadline ‘very seriously’ when efforts have stalled to improve inter-Korean relations.

It should be noted that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had in April gave a year-end deadline to show more flexibility in their denuclearisation talks to the United States. (Agencies)
