‘Sharpshooter’ arrested with pistol in Bhaktapur



KATHMANDU: Police in Bhaktapur have arrested a person with a pistol on Monday.

The arrested is Shambhu Prasad Shah, 38, of Pheta Rural Municipality in Bara.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur arrested Shah at around 7 pm. Police had received information that a man carrying a pistol in his waist has been spotted in the city.

Police said Shah had arrived in Kathmandu for a murder.

Chief of Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur SP Sabin Pradhan said that Shah had arrived in Kathmandu in a public transport through BP Highway.

“Through preliminary investigation it has been established that he was in the town to execute a murder,” Pradhan told Khabarhub,” We are further investigating the case.”

Along with the pistol, police recovered five live bullets from his possession.

According to police, they are finding out Shah’s background assuming him as a sharpshooter.
