KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader Bam Dev Gautam has been suspected of dengue.

Gautam had on Monday reached the Teku-based Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital after being down with fever.

Test reports have yet to arrive, according to hospital sources.

He is now taking rest at his residence in Bhainsepati.

It should be noted that around 4,000 people, including Agriculture Minister Chakrapani Khanal, senior eye surgeon Dr Sanduk Ruit, among others have taken ill due to dengue.

So far, six persons have died due to dengue across the country in the last few months.
