13th SAG: Gaurika Singh wins 4th gold medal in swimming

KATHMANDU: Gaurika Singh added a gold medal in swimming under the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) on Monday.

Singh won the medal in the 100-meter freestyle category clocking 58.13 seconds. With the gold medal, Nepal’s gold medal tally has reached 49.

On Sunday, Singh had scored a hat-trick in swimming. She had added a gold medal under the 400m freestyle in 4:25:28.

Earlier, Singh had broken her own national record in the 100-meter butterfly and 200-meter butterfly to win gold medals.

Singh had taken 1:09:97 in the 100-meter butterfly to improve her own previous national record of 0:08: 63.

In the 200-meter freestyle, Singh timed 2:09:19 seconds to win gold.
