PM Oli mulling wide-ranging shakeup, advisors forced to resign en masse

KATHMANDU: All the members of the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s Secretariat have resigned en masse after the prime minister directed them to resign.

The direction by the prime minister to all of his advisors to resign signals that PM Oli is mulling a wide-ranging shakeup.

According to the source, PM Oli had summoned all of them on Friday and directed them to resign.

Political Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Foreign Affairs Advisor Rajan Bhattarai, Public Relations Advisor Achyut Mainali, Press Advisor Kundan Aryal, IT Advisor Asgar Ali and Member-Secretary Indra Bhandari among others have resigned.

Members of the Secretariat had been facing stern criticism within the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) for baring the party’s leaders to meet the prime minister.
