State 3 discusses five-year plan



KATHMANDU: State 3 has discussed the issues incorporated in its first periodic plan for the development. The discussion dwelt on how development plans could be implemented.

At the discussion organized by State Policy and Planning Commission here today, Chief Minister Dormani Poudel said the development plans would be executed as per the suggestion of the experts. “We’ve unveiled the five-year plan for State development having the five pillars- infrastructures, agriculture, specialized service, industry and heritage friendly tourism.”

On the occasion, Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission, Dr. Pushpa Raj Kandel, suggested uniformity in the plans formulated by the seven States.

“Some States made such plans which are unique and different from those of the federal government. However, the federal and State governments need to have robust coordination,” he viewed. The State governments’ plan should also be compatible with the federal plan that aims to realize the national ambition of ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali.’

Others to furnish suggestions to State 3 were former secretaries Kishor Thapa and Ishwori Joshi, Prof Dr. Man Prasad Wagle, Prof Kedar Bhakta Mathema, Dr. Ram Prasad Adhikari, Surya Rai, Min Bahadur Basnet and Dipendra Purush Dhakal.
