300 drivers face the music for violating traffic rules

HETAUDA: District Police Office, Makwanpur has fined some 300 vehicles that violated the traffic rules during the Dashain festival. They were fined for carrying passengers out of their capacity.

The drivers have been warned not to repeat the mistake. With the violation of the traffic rule, the passengers were hassled much, the Office said, adding that some vehicles carried more passengers, while some drivers were found drunk and hassling passengers.

With the fine, the Office collected Rs 300 thousand in revenue. Nine drivers were found drunk-driving. Two persons had died in the accidents that occurred at different places in the district during the Tihar festival.
