Heavy rainfall with hailstone destroys crops in Myagdi



MYAGDI: The heavy rainfall with hailstone occurred at different places of Beni municipality-2 on Tuesday afternoon has destroyed a huge quantity of crops.

The hailstone with storm destroyed paddy planted at Gauswara, Sanalek and Bhakunde areas.

Ward chairperson of Beni municipality-2, Hira Bahadur Thapa, said that 80 percent paddy has been destroyed by the hailstone. People traveling along Beni-Barjanga, Beni-Bhakimli, Beni-Darbang, Beni-Pakhapani, Simalchour-Kuhu, Beni-Bhagawari and Beni-Jomsom roads have been facing problems due to landslide and muddy road following the hailstone.

He said, “We are collecting the details of the losses of all hailstone-hit areas.” The heavy rainfall with hailstone had taken place for three hours continuously from 2:00 pm.
