KATHMANDU: On July 4, police arrested a cadre of Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ with a sophisticated weapon along with ammunition from Shankhuwasabha.
The arrested is Nimdorje Tamang. Police clashed with cadres of Biplav outfit at Sisuwakhola Heyangla of Silichung Rural Municipality-1, Sankhuwasabha, on July 1. However, no casualties were reported despite a brief clash.
On June 20, a Biplav cadre was killed in a clash with the police in the jungle of Lalbandi Municipality of Sarlahi district. According to Bishwa Raj Pokharel, spokesperson of the Nepal Police, the deceased is Kumar Paudel, Sarlahi district in-charge of Biplav outfit. These are only representatives of the incidents.
According to Spokesperson Pokharel, a total of 559 cadres have landed in the police net after the government put a ban on the Biplav outfit. Among them, as many as 83 cadres have been incarcerated.

A total of six people have died following the government ban on the party. According to the statistics maintained by the Nepal Police headquarters, a Biplav cadre died due to a bomb explosion in Anamnagar, Kathmandu and three others died in similar kinds of incidents in Sukedhara.
Likewise, one died in Sarlahi -1, another in Bhojpur. According to spokesperson Pokharel, seven police personnel sustained injuries in the incidents. A huge cache of arms and ammunition were seized on the occasion.

According to the statistics, bombs went off in 18 different places while 95 bombs planted across the country were diffused. Similarly, arson attacks and vandalism took place in 10 different places.
Govt bent on inciting violence, accuses Bilav
In an interview with Khabarhub taken earlier, Netra Bikram Chand had accused the KP Oli government of inhumanly suppressing Biplav outfit activities.
During the interview, Bipav said, “We are engaged in peaceful politics in line with people’s mandate. We have not used weapons. Still, the government is ruthlessly killing our cadres.” The government’s activities are only disrupting peace and inciting violence.
We are keeping a close tab on Biplav outfit as it poses challenges, says govt
Police spokesperson Bishwaraj Pokharel said the security has not been so challenging yet. However, there are some groups which are likely to disrupt peace and pose security challenges.
The Biplav outfit has posed a challenge. Therefore, we have kept its activities under our scrutiny, he concluded.
