KATHMANDU: The government is planning to obligate married men to mention the name of their spouses in the land registration certificate, reported The Himalayan Times.
The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has proposed to do in its 15th Period Plan, the report says.
Once the plan comes into effect, the married couple will have joint ownership of land.
CJ Rana transfers KDC judge to JC
The Himalayan Times has highlighted the transfer of Babukaji Baniya, the judge of Kathmandu District Court (KDC) to the Judicial Council.
Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana transferred Baniya after non-gazetted first class officer of KDC Bholanath Chalise was caught red-handed with Rs 500,000 bribe by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority.
